Jennifer Smith-Lee is a specialist in nature interpretation and environmental education in non-formal settings.  She has more than 10 years of experience in this area, and has had opportunities to apply her skills leading and designing programs in various regions of the United States as well as internationally.

Long interested in both Russia and cultural influences on environmental issues, Jennifer holds an MS in Natural Resources and Environment and an MA in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Michigan.  Her graduate research focused on environmental perceptions and attitudes in the Lake Baikal region.  She currently works for the US Forest Service in the International Programs office, where she manages programs in Russia, Mongolia, and India. Prior to her current position, Jennifer served as the Executive Director of the Tahoe-Baikal Institute, a non-profit that facilitated international exchanges focused on watershed management. She has a background in environmental education and nature interpretation. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys biking, yoga, and exploring her hometown of New York City.
